LOVE YOUR CHILDREN IN A WAY THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEIR ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE

You're NOT being "helpful" when you push your children athletically. You're NOT going to inspire them to athletic greatness when you get angry at them after a bad/disappointing performance.

WANT SUCCESS? THEN YOU NEED A LITTLE OBSESSION IN YOUR LIFE

Here's a little success recipe for you: Start with a big, scary dream and then combine with a ton of HARD WORK; Next, add a massive amount of DEDICATION and blend well; Then sprinkle liberally with DAILY COMMITMENT for years on end; Be sure to stir in a healthy quantity of OBSESSION WITH THE JOURNEY and mix with all of the above ing

THINK WHEN YOU PLAY AND ALL IS LOST

Athletic execution in every sport is all about quick and biomechanically complicated movements. Even in a sport like golf, where the action waits for you, the swing is complex and extremely fast. What does this mean for you as an athlete? Simple! Think when you perform and you'll be totally lost!

YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T PRACTICE BECAUSE OF THE "BOO BOO" ON YOUR HEAD?!!!!!!

On December 16th Texas Tech football player Adam James was injured in practice. The next day he was diagnosed with a concussion. According to the player's allegations and confirmed by witnesses, head coach Mike Leach then instructed his coaches to twice put James in a small dark place for hours while the team practiced.

I HATE THE NY YANKEES BUT I LOVE DEREK JETER

Please forgive me because I can't help myself! It's in my DNA as a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan. My genetic code has preprogrammed me to hate the NY Yankees. He is the ultimate professional, the All Star's ALL STAR and I'm not just talking about his prodigious athletic talents.

THE TIGER IS HUMAN(so what else is new?)

Tiger Woods is getting far more publicity than he'd like these days for a different game he plays than golf. I guess you can call it the "cheating game." He got caught red-handed in the midst of a 3-year affair which apparently started when his wife was pregnant with the couple's first child. (OUCH!!)

EXCESSIVE AGGRESSION - STEPPING OVER THE LINE

In just about every sport, the ability to be aggressive is not only important, but a prerequisite for success. The athlete who holds back, avoids contact or is afraid to take risks will not perform as well as his/her more aggressive counterpart.

PARENTS - HEALING THE WOUNDS THAT HURT

There is nothing more emotionally devastating for a young athlete than to experience their mom and/or dad being disappointed in and unhappy with them. When a child-athlete gets stuck in an extended  performance slump, has a bad game or loses to a beatable opponent, that child's "

THE NOT SO "BLIND SIDE" - THE REALLY OBVIOUS SECRET TO SUCCESS

The feel-good hit movie, THE BLIND SIDE, has just made its' debut in movie theaters to rave reviews. Based upon the the 2006 best selling book of the same name, it charts the improbable success of Baltimore Raven's rookie tackle, Michael Oher from homelessness and poverty on the mean streets of Memphis to starting in the NFL.
