Your Mental Toughness Results
Mental toughness isn’t one single skill. It’s a combination of different mental, physiological, and emotional skills that influence how you respond to pressure, mistakes, distractions, challenges and the demands of training and competition.
This assessment looks at five important areas of your mental game: Reboundability, Pressure Management, Concentration, Confidence and Motivation.
Your overall score gives you a snapshot of your current mental toughness, but don’t stop there.
Your individual scores can tell you much more about where your mental game is already supporting your performance — and where it may be getting in your way.
Most athletes aren’t equally strong in every area. You might be highly motivated and confident, for example, but struggle to recover after mistakes. Or you may be great at staying focused but find that pressure changes how you perform.
That’s exactly why looking at the individual areas matters.
And remember: mental toughness isn’t something you either have or don’t have. Mental skills can be developed and trained!

YOUR MENTAL TOUGHNESS PROFILE
REBOUNDABILITY
Reboundability is your ability to mentally and emotionally recover after mistakes, failures, setbacks and bad breaks.
Every athlete makes mistakes. The difference isn’t whether you mess up, it’s what happens next.
Can you acknowledge what happened, make an adjustment and return your attention to the present? Or does one mistake turn into two, three or four because part of you is still stuck on what already happened?

PRESSURE MANAGEMENT
Pressure is part of competition. The goal isn’t to eliminate it: some activation and nervousness can actually help prepare your body to compete. Problems arise when the pressure becomes so intense that it changes how you think, feel or perform.
The skill is learning how to work with your nervous system so you can access the abilities you’ve already developed when they matter most.

CONCENTRATION
Concentration is your ability to direct your attention toward what’s important in the moment while letting go of information that doesn’t help you perform.
Competition constantly gives you things to pay attention to: opponents, officials, coaches, spectators, conditions, previous mistakes, future outcomes and your own thoughts.
Mental toughness requires learning to choose where your attention goes.

CONFIDENCE
Confidence isn’t something you either have or don’t have. It also doesn’t mean believing you’re going to win every time or never questioning yourself. It’s something you train, just like a physical skill in your sport.
Competitive confidence comes from trusting in your preparation, your abilities and yourself —even when the outcome is uncertain.
If you want to perform at your best, you need to build imprints of confidence in your body—real, tangible experiences that remind your body and mind what success feels like, so you can access this feeling when you need it.

MOTIVATION
Motivation provides the energy and direction behind your training, but sustainable motivation is about more than simply wanting to win.
The strongest motivation comes from within and is connected to something personally meaningful — your goals, growth, love of the sport, desire to improve or the kind of athlete you want to become.
Your best performances happen when your goals are built around what YOU want, not what others expect of you.
When you tap into that internal drive, you develop something that the best athletes have in common: a powerful reason to keep going through challenges, setbacks and periods of slower progress.

Understanding Your Results
Your results aren’t a label or a prediction of how successful you can become as an athlete.
They’re a snapshot of the mental skills you’re bringing to competition right now.
Some areas may already be significant strengths. Others may need more intentional development. And those strengths and challenges can change as you grow, move into new competitive environments and encounter different kinds of pressure.
The goal isn’t to score perfectly in every category. The goal is to understand yourself better as a competitor — and then train the areas that will help you perform with greater confidence, composure, focus and consistency.
Remember: your mental game is always trainable.
