To Our Parents, Coaches and Athletes During this Crisis
We hope this finds you healthy and safe at home. It is an unprecedented time in sports right now, with everything completely on pause. Never before have we seen anything like this!
We are writing to offer some support during this time.
We are finding that in our in-person sessions with athletes, they are sitting with a variety of emotions:
- Insecurity as seasons have been paused and in most places canceled.
We have gymnasts worrying about losing skills and swimmers who can’t train, longing to get back in the pool. Seniors who are confused about college and juniors who are unsure how to continue with the recruitment process. We have parents who do not know how to comfort or help their athletes, and coaches who feel as though their hands are tied.
Our sessions focus on:
Strengthening your mental toughness
Expanding your body’s capacity and resilience,
Building new mental skills
Helping you process the disappointment, frustration, anger, and anxiety.
Developing plans to stay on top of training physically and mentally
Keeping you connected to your passion and motivation.
Right now we need more support than ever from each other. When something so big and disruptive happens, it is critically important that we feel the emotions that surface and have concrete tools and strategies to make the most out of this time at home.
Beginning today we will be offering a sliding scale for our sessions. This offer is extended to everyone across the board: coaches, athletes and parents.
Due to what is happening in the economy right now it feels important to us that support is still available to you.
We are hopeful that our sliding scale allows families to continue to receive services in a way that can really work for each individual family. Support is not something we want to take off the table right now.
