- WORK ON YOUR WEAKNESSES -
A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. The only way that you can really get better as an athlete is by identifying and working on your weaknesses. Most athletes dont like doing things that they're not good at. As a result they spent far too much training time strengthening their strengths and avoiding the things that they do poorly. If you avoid your weaknesses, not only will they not go away, but eventually your opponents will find and take advantage of them. Two years ago, as one of the top money winners in golf, Tiger Woods decided to change his stroke. He felt that his timing was slightly off and at times this hurt his game. Most athletes in his position wouldn't have had the guts to do that. Tiger knew better. You can't be afraid of your weaknesses. You have to embrace them. Since he made these changes, he has been virtually unbeatable, recently winning Golf's grand slam.
